NRL Highlights: Roosters v Panthers - Round 4

It’s a super long weekend of Easter rugby league. Let’s sink our teeth into a beauty here at Allianz. Dylan Edwards boot to ball, Dominic Young receives and back comes the charging Terrell May to get the Easter weekend under way. Lindsay Smith wearing jumper 10. They’re in defence and Don Young ball play. Good goal line resilience by the Roosters. They’re organized. No way through at the minute. Schneider, kicking towards the goal line up in the air, tapped down Epples. He gives it away to Ruber, stands him up and scores. He’s in a rich way to form. Harvey Norman. Replay last play and it’s Brad Schneider. Nice little kick right in the pocket and tap back by tunnel. Beautiful pass there by Dylan Edwards and gets down nice and low. Senior Taruva plays to his advantage. They open in the scoring. The Panthers, it’s beautifully planned. Taruva doesn’t look to come in field and chase the kick. He stays on his sideline. Now they just don’t make mistakes. They work away. They’re not disappointed if they’re not scoring points. They’re very patient in with the dazzling footwork. Thought about a kick, floating it over the top. And now they’ve got to turn one tongue. Or to to move back back down at contact. Got it. Back to Edwards. He’s done in a kick. He beats Tedesco. He rolls it ahead. Dylan. Edward. Oh, stop it. What about that for a try? You won’t be able to keep up with this dancing around. Lewis throws the long pass tumble into the corner, somehow gets an off load to Ruba, somehow gets it back in field, Dylan Edwards says. Now where will I go now where to go? Grab a kick, runs around them, grabs it, puts it down. That is that is brilliant. Please continually, continually test your effort. They keep asking questions. The Panthers, they start with the drop offs, they drop off and they drop off and they test your feet moving on the other side of the rock. And then Luo will get it and he’ll go. Left foot, left foot, Left foot comes back to this man who does all the work coming out of the backfield. Rabi for Walker and Tedesco out the back to Madu. Madu surges and scores, holds off the defence and gets over. OK, Chris looking at the lead runner of Jared on Dylan Edwards. So we’re looking at Jared Warrior Hugger as he goes through the lead here of Jared. He’s required to stop prior to interfering with any defenders at this point. He stops Dylan Edwards from being able to slide and assist in defending this play which is an obstruction. We have a decision gets up within 7. Kenny away to Brad Steiner. It’s a kick for Taylor made a contest but Manu? He’s another great aerial exponent and he has taken the ball. Walker. It’s a penalty to Penrith. See Sam Walker here, Eyes on the ball, eyes on the ball. But the fact that he made a little look towards the man chasing what they want you to do, If you look or make a movement in front of a man chasing that’s called an escort and they’ll penalize you and learn not to be overshadowed by Teruva. He’s got eighteen tries in his last 15-O big tackle. Victor Radley’s back to his best. Can’t get through it. See, they’re covering some territory. The Panthers, they’re down just about on the team. Schneider had a run. More playing out to yo out the back on the bump. Schneider keeps it alive, tops it this time. Joey Manu Here it is here. They shoot out of the line. Semi Walker ball goes to ground and then Joey Manu just reads the play. 3 encouraging passages to play though. Walker Tenesco on the inside of Manu. Step in, He beat Juan, he beat another. He doesn’t get Taylor Mayer. Then Kenny comes over the top to knock him over. Super fast. Play the ball. The Roosters with heaps of numbers out left to kick in behind them and the chase is on. It will then try to tuber Nuer and you can just feel this could be it. Walker with the kick. Tuber Nuer long arms gets it down. Harvey Norman replay. Didn’t they need that on the stroke of half time? Ruber turned around. Tuber Nuer will come from behind. It’s just the long arms that get him there. Oh, I think he bounced it. Last tackle. What’s the strategy? Yo Gives a bit of depth for Schneider and Edwards and catch and pass and score another one. Roosters were able to get a back Harvey Norman replay. Everyone runs their exact line at the right time. Kiri’s going to claim that maybe he was tripped from behind, but it’s hardly an obstruction. Although in this day and age, perhaps I should not say that it’s just beautifully executed. Everyone running at speed passes out in front, catch and pass. No one catches on their chest, they all catch it in their hands and they just outnumber the Roosters left hand defense. They have not second guessed themselves once tonight this pair of team they are singing around. Maverick dies on the ground. There you go. Son of a legend. Well, there’s a proud dad as you’ve ever seen. One giving the ball might be a bit more level headed than his old man. Perhaps to the middle of the ground. Now where yo’s waiting. Snyder Edwards. Quick hands again. Taruma sideline open. Taruma versus Kiri got 3. Harvey. Norman replay again. Yo Snyder. And then once Sunia Teruva gets the ball, he wasn’t thinking about stepping back inside. He was always taking on Luke Kiri to the outside yo controlling the middle of the ground. Schneider beating Edwards TT the balls on the ground. This is another Penrith try. Well, we think it is. Anyway, it appeared to skip the ground there. We’ve got no try coming into four. I think it’s knocked the dew off the surface. The dew doesn’t count. Needs grass. At no point does the ball ever touch the ground. Isaac Tango is held up. We have a decision. Terrell May. Schneider came in with a great jamming tackle along with Martin. Although I think it’s on here at Dummy Harp. It is. It’ll be a try. Smith to a little bit of space and capitalize. So an opportunity and a bit of space. Snyder still getting back into position. Harvey Norman replay gets down nice and low. He’s hard to stop there by Smith. Sam Walker James to this go slowly E away. The two bow with a miracle put down and I think he’s got this try which keeps it alive. They must decline the kick. They have to decline this kick. What is there 25 seconds left on the clock? On the clock. It’s never, ever over. Edwards. It’s as deep as possible. Oh, shake Putz. Two tackles. Last play. This is the one, Curie with a great ball, if it found the mark. Now we’re on down the right hand side, but there was a hand from a Penrith defender. And yes, Maverick, you’ve won your first game in the top grade and that one means a lot. You can tell by the reaction of the players and the coaches. The Panthers came here without Cleary, without Fisher, Harris without Sorensen, and they’ve made it nine in a row against the Roosters. This is a big win. That’s an outstanding win.
