Alex Albon unveils fantastic panda-themed helmet for F1 Chinese Grand Prix

With the Formula 1 grid returning to Shanghai for the first Chinese Grand Prix since 2019, you might expect the drivers to go all out this weekend both on-the-track, and off.

Enter Alexander Albon.

Albon was one of the first drivers to introduce his theme helmet for the Chinese Grand Prix, and it might be difficult to top. Sharing the helmet on social media, Albon showed the world his panda-inspired helmet, getting some help along the way:

This is a critical weekend for Albon and the team at Williams. After finishing seventh in the Constructors’ Championship a season ago, the team has yet to open their account for the 2024 campaign. Development delays with the FW46, their challenger for the season, caused them to open the year without a backup chassis.

That came to be a problem at the Australian Grand Prix when Albon suffered a hard crash in practice. The team was unable to repair the chassis ahead of qualifying, and the team made the decision to slide Albon into teammate Logan Sargeant’s car for the race.

While the team is expected to have a backup chassis for the Miami Grand Prix, they enter the Chinese Grand Prix with little room for error.

But at least they have pandas.
