No talks about resting Jasprit Bumrah for remainder of IPL season: MI’s Naman Dhir
MI’s Naman Dhir has said that there are talks regarding resting Jasprit Bumrah for the remainder of the IPL 2024 season ahead of the clash against SRH. Bumrah has been the star player for Mumbai this season as he leads the Purple Cap race with 17 wickets to his name from 11 matches at an average of 16.11.Â
With Bumrah expected to lead the attack for India during the T20 World Cup, there have been suggestions that he should be given a rest by MI for the remainder of the season. With Mumbai all set to miss out on the playoff spot, the Indian pacer’s workload management before the ICC event could be looked at. However, MI’s Naman Dhir has said during the pre-match press conference that there have been no discussions as such about this and it will be team management’s call at the end of the day.Â
“Right now there are no talks regarding this, but it’s up to (the team) management to take a decision,” said Naman Dhir.

Rohit Sharma is all fit and fine: Naman Dhir
MI used Rohit Sharma as an impact sub in their loss to KKR last time around. Piyush Chawla would say that Rohit was having a mild stiffness in his back and that’s why the call was made. Naman Dhir said that the move was done as a precaution and expects the India captain to be in the mix for the SRH clash.Â
“He had a stiff back before the last game. The (T20) World Cup is approaching, so for precaution, he played as an impact sub. But he is here for practice today, so I guess he is all fit and fine,” Dhir said.
Hardik Pandya gives me confidence: Naman Dhir
Naman Dhir had some special praise reserved for MI skipper Hardik Pandya and said that he always backs the youngsters in the side. The all-rounder said that Hardik gives him confidence to do well.Â
“He always backs me, and he always backs every youngster. So, as much as I talk to him, he gives me confidence that you are good and can do well in bowling and batting,” said Dhir.Â
