Sky News host Peta Credlin says there is no $275 cut coming for anyone’s power bill as it’s a “great big fat lie” from Labor.
“Today, Labor were hoping journalists were just dumb enough to just regurgitate the line that this offer from the Regulator would mean a decrease in power bills from the first of July. And no surprises, plenty of journalists this morning fell for it,” Ms Credlin said.
‘No $275 cut coming’: Credlin responds to power price reduction news
She said prices have “gone up and up” over the first two years of this government.
“If you live in Western Sydney for example, you’ve had a 37 per cent increase to your power bills since Labor first were elected.
“Meaning a single digit drop – as little as 0.4 per cent for some homes, maybe as much as seven per cent for others – that’s still … 30 per cent more for your power bill since Labor was elected.”
