Lotto ticket bought in Cavite wins P45.6 million
MANILA, Philippines — A bettor in General Trias City, Cavite won the jackpot in the Mega Lotto 6/45 drawn on Wednesday night.
The lotto player guessed the winning combination 05-12-19-01-28-08, which had a total jackpot of P45,638,809.60.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said 191 other bettors, who hit five of the winning numbers, won P32,000 each.
Lotto winnings are subject to a 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act or TRAIN Law. The Mega Lotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The PCSO has been under fire over an edited picture of a lotto winner.
PCSO general manager and vice chairman of the board Melquiades Robles admitted during a Senate hearing that the clothes of a woman who won the P43.9-million lotto jackpot was changed in the photo posted on the PCSO’s Facebook page. He said this was to protect her identity.
