New coach Sean Chambers aims to ‘reignite winning culture’ at FEU

MANILA, Philippines—Sean Chambers is no stranger to winning in the Philippine basketball scene.

One of the most decorated imports in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), Chambers hopes his winning pedigree helps Far Eastern University regain its lost glory in the UAAP as the Tamaraws’ new head coach.

“Over the years, I’ve closely observed the evolution and spirit of Philippine collegiate basketball, witnessing the remarkable growth and development of young players. I firmly believe there is ample opportunity for me to contribute to their journey towards reaching their fullest potential on and off the court,” said Chambers in a statement released by FEU on Monday.

“I am profoundly grateful and humbled by the opportunity to return to the Philippines as the Head Coach of the FEU Tamaraws. It is an honor to collaborate with FEU management and coaching staff, in our collective mission to reignite the winning culture at FEU.”

The 59-year-old American replaced Denok Miranda, who was appointed head of the FEU’s basketball program, at the helm.

Miranda coached FEU for just one season when the Tamaraws finished with a 3-11 record in Season 86.

Chambers won six PBA championships with Alaska. He was also the Best Import in the 1996 Governors’ Cup. He served as an assistant coach for TNT last year.
