NASCAR has released its penalty report from the race weekend at Dover Motor Speedway in April 2024, and the results of two cars going to the R&D Center are official. NASCAR found nothing wrong with Chase Elliott or Martin Truex Jr.’s cars from Dover. As expected, no penalties are being enforced for either driver.
As for other violations from the weekend at Dover, there was only one in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Andrew Overstreet, Carson Kvapil’s crew chief, was fined $5,000 for one loose lug nut after the Xfinity Series race at Dover. Kvapil had an opportunity to win the Xfinity Series event, but Ryan Truex stole it during the final restart.
Overall, there isn’t much to take away from this week’s NASCAR penalty report. The eyes were on Elliott and Truex, as any car taken to the R&D Center has a bigger chance of getting a penalty than at the race track. However, the two drivers are now clear, and the focus will be on the NASCAR weekend at Kansas Speedway starting on Saturday.
