My identical twin girls starred in Netflix's One Day - people are 'jealous' they got to spend time with Leo Woodall

A mother of twins has claimed everyone is ‘jealous’ of her toddlers after they were cuddled by One Day heartthrob Leo Woodall in the new Netflix series.

Holly Kinsey, 25, from Brackley in Northamptonshire, was over the moon when she was told Willow and Sienna had been chosen to feature in the series adaptation of her ‘favourite’ book.

After sending measurements of the seven-month tots to the production team for costumes, the pair travelled down to London with Holly in December 2022 to start filming.

The nursery practitioner’s twins filmed on set for five days in a three-storey house in Battersea, both appearing as Jasmine, the daughter of Dexter Mayhew, played by Leo Woodall.

In one scene, Sienna was asleep and was cradled by Leo. Holly said that while many people have gushed over the ‘adorable’ clip, others have gone as far as to say they were envious of the twins being held by Netflix’s newest heartthob.

Holly said: ‘The reason I created my TikTok is because there was a gif of Leo holding Sienna asleep [from the series] trending on Twitter.

‘The reactions online have been lovely and I’m quite jealous that the girls have been held by Leo.’

She added on her TikTok account: ‘He was absolutely amazing with them.’

One Day tells the touching story of the relationship between Emma Morley (Ambika Mod) and Dexter, by showing viewers the same day – July 15 – in their lives every year.

It is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by David Nicholls and has surpassed over 15 million views since its release on February 8.

After meeting on the last day of Edinburgh University in 1988, Emma and Dexter go on to experience a friendship filled with pining and misunderstandings over the following years.

Willow and Sienna, now nearly two, featured in episode 11 of the 14-part series and Holly says their newfound stardom has only been met with positivity online.

They both play Jasmine, the daughter of Leo and Sylvie, played by Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson.

She said that Leo was ‘amazing’ with the babies and was sad to see them go at the end of filming

Because they are identical, the team could film the twins for longer hours as they could be swapped out if they started to cry

Describing the exciting day itself, she said: ‘On the day of filming a chaperone picked me and the girls up and took us to the London location for filming. In the sleeping scene, the twins are actually asleep.

‘The director followed the girls’ sleeping schedules to get these candid shots and Sienna was asleep.

‘Leo said the girls were so cute. he was so lovely and so natural with the girls.

‘When the girls were leaving the set after filming Leo came and waved them goodbye and was sad to see them go.’

Holly said that identical twins are highly sought after for acting roles because it means they can film scenes for longer, and swap the twins out if they begin to cry.

She added: ‘The filming days were quite long but the girls loved it.

‘When the twins were filming the feeding scene in the highchair I was literally jumping up and down behind the camera to try and make them laugh. I am so proud of them and I’m so proud of the series.’

‘I am so glad how much the series has blown up and watching them shoot the scenes, especially the baby sleeping scene, was amazing.’

25-year-old Holly, from Northamptonshire, had signed her twins up to a talent agency

Fans on TikTok even said they wanted Leo to ‘hold me like I’m Willow/Sienna’

Holly says ‘One Day’ is her favourite book and thinks the Netflix series adaptation of it is much better than the 2011 film version featuring Anne Hathaway.

Since the series aired in February this year, she has watched it twice through and says she watched the episode that her children feature in first.

Holly said: ‘One day is actually my favourite book of all time and my mum gave it to me to read. I have also seen the film with Anne Hathaway in so when the girls got asked to be part of the series I was so happy.

‘In my opinion the series is a lot better than the film because I think the series is able to capture more and relate more to the book.’

The twins also featured in the Christmas Special of the BBC show Motherland in 2022 but Holly says this is their biggest broadcast appearance to date.

The mother-of-two said when watching the series back, she can tell which twin is in each scene but her family struggle to tell the difference.

Holly found it difficult to wait between filming in December 2022 and the series’ release in January 2024

Since posting a video of the twins in One Day on TikTok, the post has racked up more than 600,000 views and 59,000 likes.

One user said: ‘The scene of her sleeping while he holds her. They are so gorgeous.’

Another added: ‘Oh to be a sleeping baby having Leo Woodall caress your face with his nose.’

A third commented: ‘They’re so beautiful. I loved One Day and seeing that scene with Dex and Jasmine absolutely melted me.’

A fourth said: ‘I want Leo Woodall to hold me like I’m Willow or Sienna.’
