The White Lotus begins production on Season 3 in Thailand: 'Unforgettable experiences are in the making'

HBO has started rolling cameras on the highly-anticipated third season of their hit series The White Lotus.

Production is currently under way in picturesque Thailand, where the show’s official Instagram shared a snap of a slate being used on the first day of filming Tuesday.

‘Unforgettable experiences are in the making at #TheWhiteLotus. We are eager to welcome new guests to our resort in Thailand,’ the caption read.

The news that filming has started comes just after the news that Blackpink singer Lisa will make her acting debut, under her given name Lalisa Manobal.

No plot details were released on the season, except that it will take place at a new fictional White Lotus resort in Thailand and focus on a new group of guests.

The cast includes Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Christian Friedel and Parker Posey.

Other cast members include Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, and Arnas Fedaravicius, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Sam Nivola, Scott Glenn, Julian Kostov, Sarah Catherine Hook and Shalini Peiris

The new season will also bring back Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda in the Hawaii White Lotus back in the first season.

Like he has the first two seasons, series creator Mike White will write and direct the season, though it’s unclear how many episodes this season will have.

The first season – set in a Hawaii White Lotus resort – spanned six episodes, while the second – set in a Sicily White Lotus – got a seven-episode order.

While the cast and locale is different for each season, the premise remains the same, with the show following both the affluent guests of this luxury resort and the employees who take care of them during their stay.

Each season has featured a death – teased in the opening moments of each season – before going back a week, with each season following the build-up to each death.

The season finale for each show reveals both the victim and their bizarre death, with the final moments revisiting that earlier scene from the premiere.

The first season it was Murray Bartlett’s Armond, who was accidentally killed by Shane Patton (Jake Lacy) in the finale when Armond ran into a knife Shane held.

The second season brought back Jennifer Coolidge as the wealthy and eccentric Tanya McQuoid, who learned in the finale that the gay Italian men she befriended were actually trying to kill her… likely at the behest of her husband Greg (Jon Gries) to acquire her fortune.

Tanya ultimately got the best of them, killing Quentin (Tom Hollander), Niccolo (Stefano Gianino) and Didier (Bruno Gouery).

Unfortunately for Tanya, it was gravity that killed her, as she slips and hits her head on the dinghy, killing her, as her body washes ashore in the final moments.
