PETALING JAYA: A motorcyclist has died after being flung about 30m from the Sungai Tiram flyover on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in Bayan Lepas, Penang, yesterday.
According to a police spokesman, the 27-year-old man was riding alone from Bayan Baru to his home in Bayan Lepas when the incident occurred at about 4.10pm.
“When the victim reached the flyover, he lost control of his motorcycle, collided with the road barrier, and was thrown off the flyover,” Bernama quoted the spokesman as saying.
“The victim suffered severe head injuries and was taken to Penang Hospital for treatment before being pronounced dead at 9.45pm.”
Penang Barat-Daya deputy police chief Jafri Md Zain confirmed the incident.
