Moisture-laden week ahead for The Prairies
Well, a very typical spring like pattern will be unleashing quite a bit of rainfall across the prairies in the coming week and we have a quite a large low pressure system that’s going to bring widespread rain across much of the southern and central prairies in particular, heaviest hit area will be that southeastern corner of Alberta. Now take this total accumulation with a grain of salt as it is still a few days out. But as it stands right now, Medicine Hat and Dauphin are getting hit the hardest with the heaviest amount of rainfall. As the slow pressure system crosses the US border, it’s actually going to intensify. Bringing down its low pressure down to about a 979 millibars, which in retrospect is very, very low for this time of year. And it’s actually going to intensify the wind gusts as the system swings on up. We’re going to get wind gusts kind of coming from all different directions as this low swirls around the Prairie. So anticipate A gusty couple days. And anticipate some tricky travel conditions.
