Mohanlal's Malayalam Fantasy Drama Barroz To Release On Onam

Legendary actor of Malayalam cinema, Mohanlal is gearing up to win the hearts of his fans once again. After delivering multiple hits, he is now in the spotlight for his upcoming 3D fantasy drama titled Barroz, which will also see him don the director’s hat for the first time. This huge-budget film is based on a mythical story based on a book and will offer a great theatrical experience to viewers. Now, the makers have revealed the release date of the film leaving the Mohanlal fans excited.

Barroz is based on the book Baaroz: Guardian of D’Gama written by Jijo Punnoose. It is set to grace the silver screens during the Onam festival. The actor took to Instagram to share the news with his fandom and also unveiled yet another poster which revealed that it will be released on September 12.

The poster showed Mohanlal dressed in black and white attire and can be seen kneeling on the ground in front of a little girl who is dressed in a blue and yellow dress. If you look carefully, you will be able to see a rustic house with lots of flowers and two hummingbirds. The caption reads, “Barroz 3D September 12, Onam 2024.”

As soon as the poster was shared on social media, fans flocked to the comment section. One could not keep their excitement upon noticing that Mohanlal would be directing the film. Another wrote, “I don’t even need to watch the trailer, I understood what the film is about when I saw the poster.” A user chimed in, “Eagerly waiting for Onam now as the blockbuster loads.”

The upcoming Malayalam drama-fantasy is produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas. Barroz will star Mohanlal in the titular role. Apart from him, the film will feature Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Tuhin Menon and Guru Somasundaram in supporting roles. It is the story of a mythical character named Barroz who has to safeguard the treasure left by Vasco Da Gama while he waits for the rightful heir to claim it.
