MILSET Asia kicks off third conference for excellent students

KUWAIT: The Regional Office of the World Organization for Science and Technology for MILSET Asia revealed the launch of the activities of the third session of the “Scientific Conference” for outstanding students at the secondary stage in Kuwait, in cooperation with the General Technical Guidance for Science at the Ministry of Education.

It included the participation of 108 male and female students, including students of special needs, in the four fields of science (chemistry, physics, biology and geology). The conference will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at Ruqayya Intermediate School for Girls in Al-Umariya area. The General Director of Science, Mona Al-Ansari said preparations for the pre-conference training workshops were completed, with seminars having been held for students over four continuous days, beginning April 15, 2024, at the headquarters of the World Organization Office.

It aims to enhance ways of communication between students and exchange views and experiences, and each day allocated a specific field of the four scientific fields included in the conference.” Ansari said the seminars tackled topics, including the opportunities available to outstanding students and the obstacles facing them, the skills they need and the factors that contribute to their continuous academic success. They also explored how to develop a scientific culture among students.

Dawood Al-Ahmad, an official with MILSET Asia, said the programs provided by the organization in collaboration with the education ministry aim at “investing in outstanding students and harnessing their energy for the advancement and development of the country,” he said. The two institutions work together to provide programs and activities to develop the skills and creativity for outstanding students, he added.
