Después de varios meses, Miguel Acuña decidió romper el silencio respecto al atropello que protagonizó a un grupo de ciclistas.

El periodista viajaba en estado de ebriedad. Y con su auto alcanzó a cuatro deportistas que quedaron con heridas de diversa consideración.

“He guardado silencio… y acá no hay dos verdades, no hay excusas: fui un irresponsable, me subí al vehículo no estando en condiciones y protagonicé este lamentable atropello”, señaló.

Luego, el profesional agregó que “gracias a Dios no ocurrió una situación mayor, pudo haber sido una tragedia”.

Así, el reportero manifestó que “no hay ninguna excusa que valga. Aquí hay personas afectadas y esas son las principales víctimas de esta situación. Y, por supuesto, les reitero mis disculpas y les pido perdón por lo que ocurrió”.

Junto a esto, contó cómo ocurrió todo: “El accidente fue puntual. Yo salí de una calle, doble y pasé a llevar a un grupo de personas que estaba ahí. Afortunadamente, reitero, no resultaron con lesiones graves, pero fue un daño el que hice”.

“Estaba medicado ese día. Y la imagen que vemos (en pantalla), la he visto súper pocas veces… duele, me duele mucho”, complementó.

El periodista indicó que, tras lo sucedido, “me propuse regresar a trabajar y, por supuesto -de alguna manera- estar con las personas que habían sufrido el accidente”.

Y comentó que “hace un tiempo llegamos a un acuerdo reparatorio, tenía que firmar el mismo día que me echaron (de Canal 13). Ellos fueron súper comprensivos, amables y muy cariñosos conmigo. Gracias a Dios, se encuentran bien”.

En tanto, sobre su salida de Canal 13, Miguel Acuña expresó que “me preparé todo este tiempo para volver. La primera cosa que se me dijo el canal es que yo seguía, no se sabía en qué instancia, entonces tuve seis meses… no quería salir, no di ningún tipo de declaración”. Una conversación que será emitida en su totalidad en el estelar de CHV, el viernes 3 de mayo.
