According to an ET report, the acquisition was facilitated through a deal with Sai Balaji Developers, a prominent land aggregator situated in the Ranga Reddy district. Propstack, a reputable data analytics firm, provided insights into this transaction. As per a report, Microsoft’s acquisition is part of its ambitious plans to bolster its data centre business.

Focus on Data Centre Expansion
Microsoft is set to establish one of the largest data centres in the region on the newly acquired property. Positioned approximately forty kilometres away from Hyderabad’s main city centre.

The Hyderabad data centre region marks a significant addition to Microsoft’s existing network, which includes regions in Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai. These regions have been operational for the past five years, serving as critical hubs for Microsoft’s cloud services and data storage solutions. Additionally, Microsoft has procured two additional land parcels in Hyderabad, further solidifying its commitment to expanding its data centre footprint.
