Former Michigan Wolverines quarterback and current program staffer Denard Robinson was arrested on Monday morning for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The 33-year-old, who works as Michigan’s assistant director of player personnel, was arrested near Schembechler Hall in Ann Arbor after a single-vehicle crash.

On Tuesday, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore announced that Robinson had been suspended indefinitely.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and will have no further comment at this time,” Moore said about Robinson on Tuesday.

Robinson has been with the Michigan staff since 2022, when former head coach Jim Harbaugh hired him.

He previously worked on the coaching staff of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars following the end of his professional career.

Robinson started at quarterback for the Wolverines for multiple seasons, earning All-American honors in 2010. He set program records for total offense, 200-yard rushing games and yards per carry.

He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Jaguars, and converted to running back for his NFL career.

He played four seasons for Jacksonville, rushing for a career-high 582 yards and four touchdowns in 2014, his second NFL campaign.

The Jaguars hired Robinson to their staff in 2020 after a stint with the Atlanta Legends of the short-lived Alliance of American Football.

Robinson is the second Michigan staff member to be arrested for driving while intoxicated over the last number of weeks, as defensive line coach Greg Scruggs was arrested last month.

He resigned shortly after his arrest without coaching in a game or practice for the program.
