Met Office 14 Day Weather Outlook 07/05/2024
Hello there. Welcome to your latest 14 day outlook from the Met Office. Springtime weather has finally arrived through this week. It’s going to be a much drier and warmer week across the UK. That’s because high pressure is moving in from the southwest and it will become more centred across the UK. We’ve also got fairly mild air across the UK and temperatures will rise day on day with high pressure centred across the UK. That high pressure does retreat a little bit away to the east of the UK as we head towards Saturday and into Sunday and through this week, with high pressure slightly more dominating across the South. We will continue to see some weather fronts affecting northwestern areas, particularly northwestern Scotland. We could see some heavy rain through Thursday and into Friday, but Saturday looks like it should be a fairly widely. However, as we head towards the second-half of the weekend, likely be a change from the dry and warm weather to something slightly cooler, a little bit wetter. That’s because we’ll start to see some more unsettled weather. The South and West become more influential, starting to see the influence of low pressure rather than high pressure. There is some uncertainty in that transition between Sunday and Monday. It could still be quite fine through much of Sunday, so do keep up to date with the details for more details on Sunday, but looks likely at some point between Sunday and into Monday will be a transition to low pressure being in charge. You can see that with the blue colours appearing on this chart. Denotes high pressure. Blue start to see low pressure in charge across much of the UK, so will turn more unsettled and a little bit cooler as well. This is the most likely pressure pattern at times throughout next week. Low pressure centred across the UK, all just to the South of the UK, bringing up spells of wet weather. That could mean that we could still see some dry spells, particularly across more northern areas through next week, but there will likely be more in the way of rain and cloud than this week. It does also mean that temperatures will fall as well, so these North and South, after temperatures climbing well above average through this week in both the north and the South, they will return much closer to average if not a little bit below throughout next week. So it’s going to be feeling quite different next week compared to this week. Much cooler, much more unsettled than this week with spells of rain, but it should still be fairly warm in the sunshine. There will still be some drier and brighter day, so the best thing to do is keep. To date with the day-to-day forecast. Longer range forecast on YouTube.
