Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich talks contract situation, addresses possible future in Spain amid Real Madrid, FC Barcelona rumors
Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has one year remaining on his contract.
Knowing that, the club will look to re-up the Germany international...or sell him this summer. Kimmich, though, is not ready to think about that just yet.
“Of course this is a really interesting question for myself. But it is not the most important thing for me right now. I know that when you sign a contract, you don’t sign it with the coach. You sign it with the club. For me as a player the most important thing is the club, not only the coach. But of course it is also important to know what the coach thinks about you and the team. We have some guys at the club who are taking care of this topic,” Kimmich told Diario AS (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Of course, I want to speak to Bayern. And when I do that, I won’t go out and speak to the press about it.”
When asked specifically about playing in Spain, Kimmich held his line.
“At the moment I am not thinking about that. As I told you: First I will speak to Bayern. But of course, Barça and Real are both amazing clubs with an amazing history,” said Kimmich.
