Mestiksen mestarijoukkueen IPK:n kärkihyökkääjä Juuso Heikkilä siirtyy ensi kaudeksi SaiPaan 1+1-vuotisella sopimuksella.

23-vuotias Heikkilä oli päättyneellä kaudella IPK:n kolmanneksi tehokkain pelaaja. 182-senttinen hyökkääjä takoi runkosarjassa 43 ottelussa komeat 20 maalia ja 45 tehopistettä. Pudotuspeleissä syntyi 19 ottelussa tehot 7+6=13.

Heikkilä pelasi kaudella 2022-23 KeuPa HT:n riveissä sensaatiomaisesti ollen Mestiksen pistepörssin kolmonen jättitehoilla 29+29=58. Liigassa Heikkilä on pelannut Pelicansissa viisi ottelua kaudella 2019-20.

– Juusolla on erittäin vahva kausi alla Mestiksessä ja kauden aikana seuraava askel kohti Liigaa on ehdottomasti otettu. Kyseessä on hyvän luistelutaidon omaava hyökkääjä, jonka kamppailuvoima on vahvasti lisääntynyt Mestis-vuosien myötä. Uskomme, että Juuso pystyy pelaamaan voittavalla tasolla jatkossakin ja tulee auttamaan SaiPan joukkuetta omalla tekemisellään paljon, SaiPan urheilujohtaja Harri Aho kommentoi uutta hankintaa.
