Dietary fiber from whole foods, such as brown rice, can lower total and LDL cholesterol and complement statin therapy to prevent heart disease. Regularly eating brown rice can help lower LDL cholesterol. High levels of LDL cholesterol increase the risk of multiple health conditions, including heart attack and stroke. Replacing white rice with brown rice can help to maintain a reduced-cholesterol diet.

It has been reported that people with elevated cholesterol levels who ate more than 160 grams of brown rice per day for 90 days showed a decrease in cholesterol levels. However, there is no evidence to date that it increases HDL levels.

Yes, the fibers present in whole grains (rice, wheat, whole oats) and in fruits are great allies in increasing HDL and LDL control. Add at least three servings of these foods to your diet every day.
