mcdonald's brings back iconic burger in major easter menu shake-up

The hugely anticipated Easter menu will debut on March 13

McDonald’s is reviving one of its most beloved burgers just in time for Easter, and fans are (ba da ba ba ba) lovin’ it.

The fast food giant revealed its latest menu shakeup this week, which will hit stores nationwide on March 13. Three new Easter-themed items will make their debut, which should be well received by any hot cross bun lovers out there.

Customers can also expect the temporary return of three previously axed items that are full of ‘feel-good nostalgic flavours’. But don’t get your hopes up too much, as these will only be available for a limited time.

The Mirror can confirm the McCrispy Deluxe will make a triumphant return to stores – after it was unforgettably pulled from menus last year. The burger, priced at £5.89, features 100 per cent chicken spread, hot and spicy mayo, caramelised onion compote, lettuce, bacon, red onions and a slice of cheddar cheese.

It will join other golden oldies including Halloumi Fries (£2.79) and the iconic Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry (£2.19) which will also be brought back from the dead during the Easter period. The chain has not confirmed how long its Easter range will remain in stores.

Onto new releases, McDonald’s is launching a Hot Cross Bun Pie (£1.99) later this month. The dessert consists of a ‘crispy cinnamon pastry filled with a spiced fruit mix and butter-flavour cream filling’. Then there’s the Hot Cross Bun Latte (£2.69) – which is sweetened with Hot Cross Bun flavour syrup, cinnamon cream and a Hot Cross Bun flavour dusting.

Lastly, a new Galaxy Truffle Bunny McFlurry will grace our menu. The soft dairy ice cream is served with pieces of Galaxy Truffle bunny ears, white and dark chocolate drops, and Galaxy chocolate sauce. McDonald’s describes the sweet treat as its most ‘adorable’ ice cream yet.
