Mauricio Umansky has described how cameras began rolling immediately after the world learned he had split from Kyle Richards – and if he has spoken with the Hiltons since Paris Hilton slammed him for discussing their family feud.

Speaking with TMZ last week, Mauricio, 53, revealed how cameras arrived to Aspen, Colorado just one day after news broke he and Kyle, 55, were separating after 27 years of marriage.

Viewers got a glimpse of what unfolded in a trailer for the upcoming second season of Mauricio’s show Buying Beverly Hills, where he was seen having an emotional conversation with his daughters about the separation.

Mauricio said what transpired between him and his daughters on camera was ‘as real as it can get.’

‘The reality is that when all of that happened and kind of that story dropped, we were all together. We were all in Colorado. We’re all in Aspen. We were filming Buying Beverly Hills at the time, the cameras were arriving the next day. Kyle was going to be departing, the cameras were arriving.

‘It was real, it was as real as it can get, that’s reality TV, we decided just to be vulnerable and to be open and to allow it to happen on television.

‘We hope that the audience can learn from the way that we’re handling what we’re handling but it’s definitely going to play out on the show.’

The star also addressed the anger that erupted from him discussing his departure from Hilton & Hyland on his show, admitting he was ‘sad’ the Hilton family were upset by what he shared.

However, he doesn’t believe he said ‘anything bad.’

‘I’m sad that they’re angry. At the end of the day, I don’t feel like I said anything bad, I just told what happened in the story and at the end of the day it was two businessmen making two business decisions.’

Mauricio explained that ultimately what occurred between him and Rick Hilton was a ‘business decision’  and he was merely trying to do what was in the best interest of his family and for his future.

‘So, you know everybody makes decisions in life and then you live with them,’ he added. ‘I just don’t think it’s that bad. I’m sorry that they’re hurt, but I hope that goes away soon because family’s family and we should be good.’

Mauricio also revealed he had not spoken with the family since Paris Hilton blasted him on social media for speaking about his exit.

Asked if there had been any talk with the Hiltons of repairing the relationship: ‘There has not been any talk about any of that stuff, I mean quite honestly I have not spoken to them ever since in the last two days since Paris made that comment.

‘Again, I don’t have any hard feelings and I certainly don’t feel like I said anything where they should have hard feelings. Hopefully it’ll just blow over and I didn’t mean any harm.’

Mauricio’s statements come after his niece Paris blasted him for publicly discussing the family feud.

Mauricio is the estranged husband of Real Housewife Of Beverly Hills Kyle Richards, whose sister is Paris’ mother Kathy Hilton.

Nowadays Mauricio is a real estate broker with his own company – but he used to work with Paris’ father Rick at the real estate agency Hilton & Hyland.

On his series Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio spilled the story of how he left Hilton & Hyland in 2011 to launch a rival agency, triggering an explosive rift between Kyle and her family, to the point the Hiltons stopped speaking to her.

Paris slammed her uncle for ‘using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show’ after it emerged he spoke about the feud on his show.

‘My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘He would never speak negatively about his family — especially in the press. Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already..’

In a Twitter preview for his series Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio can be seen discussing his departure from the Hilton fold.

The dashing reality star explained that he wanted to become a partner at the company but ‘got kind of f***ed by Hilton & Hyland.’

He laid out his version of events: ‘And when I say: “f***ed,” you know, like, today I’m happy, but there was 100 agents at Hilton & Hyland. They did a billion dollars for the first time a year, I was 19.6% of their production, and I went to Rick and said: “I’d really like equity, right? And to be a partner.”‘

To hear Mauricio tell it, Rick then took the matter to Hilton & Hyland’s president Jeffrey Hyland and came back with no for an answer.

‘Then I went home,’ said Mauricio: ‘I talked to Kyle, I go: “This is really gonna cause a lot of stress between you and your sister and your family, and I don’t wanna do this move of leaving and starting a company if you’re not comfortable.”‘

Kyle however ‘was 100% supportive,’ and Mauricio broke away from Hilton & Hyland to embark on his own enterprise, The Agency.

His old bosses, he recalled, asked: ‘How did you not give us any warning or any issue?’ prompting Mauricio to incredulously respond: ‘Warning?’

In a confessional, Mauricio diplomatically said: ‘I think Hilton & Hyland is an amazing company and I would never be caught dead speaking poorly about them because I don’t think poorly about them, and I am Rick’s brother-in-law.’

He added: ‘But unfortunately it got sour because it really affected the family – Kyle more than anybody. You know, her family stopped speaking to her, but she understood that what was done to me was wrong and she stood by me, and at the end of the day, I needed that.’
