Massive floods have hit the United Arab Emirates, already resulting in the flooding of parts of major highways, reports AP.
Due to the rise in water levels on the streets, massive puddles have formed, and cars got stuck in the water.
It’s worth noting that rain in the UAE is quite rare, but it occasionally occurs during the winter months. Because many roads and other areas lack drainage due to the absence of regular rainfall, this has led to their flooding.
In addition, at Dubai International Airport, flights were canceled due to strong winds. According to locals, lightning was observed in the sky, striking the top of the world’s tallest building – the Burj Khalifa.
Due to the inclement weather, the country decided to close educational institutions, and workers and government officials were sent to work remotely.
