Director Mari Selvaraj, who has delivered only superhits so far, began shooting for his next film, Bison Kaalamadan, which will feature actor Dhruv Vikram and actress Anupama Parameswaran in the lead, on Monday.

The film will be the first of a series of films that director Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions and Applause Entertainment are to jointly produce.

Interestingly, this film, the title of which was announced on Monday, will mark the reunion of Director Mari Selvaraj with producer Pa Ranjith after the path-breaking critically acclaimed superhit, Pariyerum Perumal. Ranjith had produced Pariyerum Perumal as well.

The makers of Bison Kaalamaadan say it will be a tale of grit, glory and finding a path to peace, the story of a warrior.

Mari Selvaraj Drops Hints About Dhruv Vikram’s Character

Taking to X, director Mari Selvaraj put out Tamil phrases that give an idea about Dhruv’s character in the film.

Mari Selvaraj wrote, “Vanthilirrundu varugiraen. Naane en vazhi thadam.” He added another tweet that said, “Kaalnadaiyay nadanthu varaan Kaalamaadan. Avan Kaarmegam pola vaaran Kaalamaadan. ” When roughly translated, it means, “I come from the forests and I am (make) my own path. Kaalamaadan walks by foot and he comes like dark clouds.”

Impressive Cast

Apart from Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran, who play the lead, the film will also feature Malayalam actors Lal and Rajisha Vijayan and Tamil actors Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal and Aruvi Madhan.

The film’s music is to be composed by Nivas K Prasanna and the key crew includes Ezhil Arasu K as director of photography and Sakthikumar as its editor.

Veteran Art director Kumar Gangappan will head the art department while stunts will be by Dhilip Subbarayan.
