Gritting his teeth, he’s gonna go right down to the line. Has he done enough to hang on? My goodness, he has. Marco, a rope, decided to pace his indoor season. He didn’t go to the World Championship. It was all about staying healthy for the outdoor season. And Bam, Morgan, he wins the opening Diamond League. What did you like? Because he’s finished, look really strong. Well, he also ran just like your story where you went and you interviewed him. He talked about meeting David Rudisha. That was a David Rudisha, Esperan in the sense that. From 200 meters he’s running up the pacemakers back and the second the pacemaker falls off like this booster rocket at rope is in the lead. And he’s not just one of these guys that gets to the front and controls the race by speeding up or slowing down. From there he just took that from wire to wire, which is a difficult thing to do against world class competition. Ran 143.6 which I don’t know if it’s the world lead still, but it’s up there. And encouraging sign this early in the season And again, the trick for all these world class track athletes is. Is no matter how fast you open, it scarcely matters unless you can improve between here and Paris. So what you don’t want is to run your best race of the season, your first race of the season. It was a really good race, but there’s still room to improve for for Marco and that has to be the most encouraging aspect. Another encouraging thing from my perspective of watching the evolution of Marco Morgan is the fact that he continues to find new ways to run the race and win the race. You know we probably exhausted the storyline of how he ran out of steam in Tokyo in the semi final and that was a tough pill to. Swallow, but he has been trying to find a way to run the perfect race, but he seems comfortable now. With not leading wall to wall and and sort of taking what the race is giving him and then just clipping those competitors at the line. Well, the truth is unless you are David Rhodesia, who in his day could run from the front and had such a margin, such a wide margin. He had like you know, a second of cushion that he could run his race that exact same way every time and no one can do anything about it. Everybody else has to find a way to win whatever race winds up unfolding and this, I think this is what you’re seeing now from Marco.
