Manly CEO vows ‘never again’ after budding player’s death
An inquest into the death of Manly player Keith Titmuss from exertional heat stroke has recommended the NRL consider a gradual return to training from the offseason. The 2220 year old collapsed and went into cardiac arrest following a more than two hour session on a mild day in November 2020. The National Rugby League has already launched a review the common coroner recommending a suite of heat management improvements including a two week controlled training load following extended breaks. We’re happy with recommendations and hope they’re all involved. Take on what the recommendations are. We’ve willingly participated in this inquiry and inquest. His Honour is handed down the findings today. We intend to take the recommendations up. Keith Titmuss has been remembered as an unassuming and hard working son, partner and friend.
