Republican voters say they are frustrated with the dysfunction of their current GOP lawmakers in Washington as they rally behind Donald Trump’s bid to return to the White House.
The disapproval comes as House Speaker Mike Johnson faces one of the toughest weeks of his short tenure in leadership to date amid mounting pressure to pass foreign aid which could also prompt his removal from office.
In the battleground state of Pennsylvania, Trump supporters told DailyMail.com they want Republicans to move their intraparty bickering behind closed doors as they face a tough election season this fall.
‘I wish Republicans would get their act together and at least put on a united front for the public,’ said Courtney Bracken, 46. ‘I think that it’s really important in an election season for at least the optics to appear the we are united.’
She went on that she does not care ‘if they fight in the back room.’
Trump fan Michael Mann, 61, said Republicans in Washington are ‘a mess.’
‘I think they need to get their act together. They’re very disorganized. It’s about time they get it together instead of trying to be on an ego trip,’ Mann said.
Trump supporters lined up to get into his rally in Schnecksville, PA on Saturday. Attendees told DailyMail.com they wanted Republicans to stop fighting in public ahead of the 2024 election
Attendees at Trump’s rally had mixed opinions of Republican Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership. Some thought he was doing a good job, but others want a shakeup in DC
Johnson has faced a number of humiliating defeats since he was elected to leadership.
Last week, he has dealt another blow from his own hardliner party members revolted and blocked a procedural vote to move forward with the reauthorization of the controversial surveillance law – the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
It was only the latest in a series of procedural hurdles where Johnson has come up short with an unwieldy caucus.
‘I like Mike Johnson, I really do. I know some of the MAGAs don’t like him, but I think he’s a good guy for the job,’ said Paul Sayre, 66, of the embattled speaker.
‘This has gone too far. He’s doing a good job,’ said Stephanie Colofa. 50.
But other Republicans who back Trump want to see a greater shakeup in Washington come November.
‘I think our government overall needs a reset,’ said Matthew Onuschak, 44.
‘I think the leadership on both sides is — I shouldn’t say leadership because there isn’t any,’ he said.
Johnson and Trump met on Friday at Mar-a-Lago where they stood together for a press conference.
The joint appearance comes as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has set in motion the process to remove Johnson and has warned him against putting the Senate’s foreign aid package up for a vote.

‘We’re getting along very well with the speaker,’ Trump said in response to a question about whether the would bad the motion to vacate to stands behind Johnson. Trump said he also gets along Greene.
‘We have a speaker. He was voted in. It was a complicated process and I think very… it’s not an easy situation for any Speaker. I think he’s doing a very good job,’ Trump said as Johnson stood beside him.
‘He’s doing about as good as you’re going to do,’ Trump said. Trump claimed Greene ‘has a lot of respect for the speaker.’
Later Trump said it’s unfortunate the motion to vacate is brought up because the U.S. has ‘much bigger problems.’
Speaker Johnson told Fox News on Sunday that he and the former president ‘are 100 percent united on these big agenda items.’
