Traffic chaos after a crane catches fire in Sydney’s Lane Cove Tunnel

A crane truck has caught fire inside Sydney’s Lane Cove Tunnel causing major traffic chaos.

Emergency services were called to the tunnel near North Ryde shortly before 6:30am on Thursday following the vehicle fire.

The blaze has since been extinguished.

The tunnel had since been re-opened.

Authorities have asked motorists to avoid the area as traffic queues along the M2 snake back more than five kilometres.
