- The Stellantis Heritage department has cooked up the Abarth Classiche 1300 GT in homage to a successful 1960s Fiat-Abarth Group 4 race car.
- The 1300 GT is based on the Alfa Romeo 4C, last sold in 2020, which packed a 237-hp turbo four-cylinder.
- The old-school styling features plenty of cooling for the mid-mounted engine, and the bodywork is made from carbon fiber.
If the new Abarth Classiche 1300 OT looks familiar, that’s because this retro-themed sports car is based on the bones of the Alfa Romeo 4C, the slinky two-door sold in the United States from 2014 to 2020. Designed to pay tribute to the Fiat-Abarth OT 1300, a winning Group 4 race car from the mid-1960s, the Abarth Classiche 1300 OT is limited to a run of just five units.
Abarth Classiche 1300 GT
This isn’t the first time Abarth has adapted the Alfa Romeo 4C into a nostalgic sports car, with the 1300 OT bearing a strong resemblance to the 2021 Abarth Classiche 1000 SP, an open-top homage to a different ’60s race car. That project was also produced in an exclusive five-unit series and sported a similar front end with a pair of tiny round headlights.
For the 1300 GT, Abarth focused on minimizing weight, with the smooth bodywork fashioned from carbon fiber and the slotted rear window formed from plexiglass. There’s also plenty of cooling for the mid-mounted turbocharged four-cylinder, with two vents in the hood, an intake popping up from the roof, and scoops carved into the rear haunches. A rear grille sandwiched between the circular taillights boldly proclaims the sports car as an Abarth.

Mechanically the 1300 OT is unchanged from its Alfa Romeo 4C donor, with 237 horsepower routed through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Unlike many limited-production cars, the Abarth Classiche isn’t already sold out. There’s no word on price, but we would bet it isn’t cheap. Sales are being handled through the Stellantis Heritage department.
