We have a long duration weather event headed to Atlantic Canada that’s going to be surging in quite a bit of atmospheric moisture. Now here’s a look at Thursday morning. The showers begin to intensify throughout Thursday into Friday. Once we get into Friday afternoon we’re getting a bit of freezing rain and ice pellets for northern Newfoundland and southeastern coast of Labrador. As we are hovering around that freezing mark, I’ll show you that momentarily. Rain intensifies on Saturday for Newfoundland and on the backside of the system we get a bit of snow. It’s going to fall on top of all that rain. So Frederick tenure in the bullseye for the most rain 80 to 120mm of rain just north of Yarmouth 75 to 100mm if you’re in Saint John’s, just a mere 30 to 50mm. Burgio shores getting quite a bit as well. But that is going to fall. Then the snow is going to fall on top of all that rain. So the roads might be a bit of a mess, slushy snow, but localized to that northwestern part of New Brunswick. Now I mentioned those temperatures hovering around the freezing mark. You notice those yellow surging from the South. But those Blues, those temperatures below 0 are starting to push in behind that system, which is going to allow that snow and also a possibility of some freezing rain for regions, as I mentioned, Northern Newfoundland, Southern Labrador, which will lead to some pretty hazardous road conditions. So keep an eye out on the roads.
