Jurgen Klopp must decide whether to bring Mohamed Salah back into the Liverpool side for Tottenham’s visit on Sunday.
The Egyptian was dropped to the bench for the 2-2 draw with West Ham and clashed angrily with Klopp on the touchline as he was preparing to come on in the second-half.
While the Liverpool boss attempted to downplay the incident after the match, Salah declined to stop for an interview and said: “If I speak today there will be fire.”It remains to be seen whether Klopp puts that incident behind him, or whether he thinks Salah’s form, with one goal in his last six appearances, merits a return to the starting lineup.
Diogo Jota and Conor Bradley are both close to being available again, having missed recent matches with injuries, but this weekend’s clash with Tottenham at Anfield is likely to come too soon.
“Both not ready,” Klopp said ahead of the West Ham match.
Progressing well, [but] not ready and nobody told me yet they will start training in the next few days. I think it will take time, a little bit.”It is difficult to predict what Klopp does with his side in the final matches of the campaign, especially as Liverpool are now effectively out of the title race.
Luis Diaz appears to be the only Liverpool forward who can be relatively confident of starting, with Salah and Darwin Nunez pushing to come back into the front three for the penultimate home match of Klopp’s reign.
Ibrahima Konate could get the nod to partner Virgil van Dijk at the back, while Dominik Szoboszlai will hope to replace Ryan Gravenberch in midfield.
