Performing arts teacher and performer Alana Hicks has described the recent weather event that hit Dubai.
The city-state was hit by major flooding following heavy rainfall.
Upwards of 100 millimetres of rain drenched the region over a 12-hour period on Tuesday.
“Look I’ve lived here for a long time and … I’m from Sydney originally so we see a lot of rain, I’ve travelled a lot but I have never seen rain like this,” Ms Hicks told Sky News Australia.

“I think … the second storm happened at like three o’clock in the afternoon and it was dark like it was midnight.
“It was incredibly dark it looked like it was midnight and when it came down. It was like nothing I’d ever seen .”
