Love Island's Joanna Chimonides reveals why she cried over Chris Taylor as she reflects on 'tense' time in villa

Joanna Chimonides has revealed why she cried over Chris Taylor as she reflected on her time in Love Island All Stars.

The 27-year-old was a late addition to the villa when she arrived on Day 16 and quickly struck up a connection with Chris, 33.

During a fan Q&A on Instagram, Joanna was asked about Chris and how she appeared to be ‘struggling’ during their relationship.

The stunner, who appeared on the 2019 series, appeared emotional during one game where she and Chris were voted as one of the least compatible couples.

Looking back on the experience, Joanna said she found the challenge ‘tense’ and so her emotions got the better of her.

She said: ‘So the Chris situation was a difficult one because we were trying to figure things out whilst I was like, ‘y’know I can’t ignore a connection there’ but then at the same time it was like …

‘It wasn’t even what everyone was saying was bad in the game. […] No one mentioning us was bad, I think it was probably the way I felt about the situation and it came out.

‘And obviously like y’know there is several people in there that have had connections with different people, and I thought ‘okay well it’s okay that I’m having connections with different people because everyone else has done that’.’

Joanna continued: ‘And then because I felt like, ‘Oh my gosh I’m getting named in every single one…’ I was like ‘ah, oh my gosh’ and it was so tense and then I just cried. It just came out.

‘I’m not a crier either, I think it’s overwhelming and I think the emotions were high. and I think it’s only natural and only normal. So yeah it was a lot.’

Despite emotions running high at times, Joanna insisted she enjoyed her second experience in the villa.

She said: ‘I had the best time. Obviously at the time when I was dumped, I kinda of was like gutted but at the same time, the minute I got out I was like ‘y’know what I actually had the best time’

‘This time round was just such an incredible experience so if there’s one thing I can take from it it’s the fact that I had an amazing time and I build so many memories.’

She responded: ‘I have no idea. I have zero idea. I think it was so early on getting to know Callum that I don’t know which way it would have turned. I mean, it was cut so short.’

‘I was in there for two weeks but me and Callum started getting to know each other for probably two, three days, maybe, like properly.

‘I’d love to give you guys the answer on this but yeah I think I was gone a little bit too soon to figure the answer out to this one.’

Joanna was given the boot from the villa alongside fellow bombshell Joe Garrett after they split from Chris and Arabella Chi, respectively.

Chris and Arabella were then automatically coupled up until new bombshell Adam Maxted chose to couple up with Arabella, sending Chris home.
