David Kriel, the Bulls’ versatile utility back, has signed a three-year contract extension. Kriel has made 97 appearances for the team since joining in November 2020. This new deal will keep him at the Bulls until June 2027.

Kriel, a Grey College alumnus, expressed his delight in securing his future with the Bulls. “Since I was a young boy, I have always wanted to play for the Bulls, to play for this prestigious and successful club,” he said.

Pretoria Becomes Kriel’s Second Home

The 25-year-old has found a second home in Pretoria. He enjoys the company of his teammates and the city’s welcoming atmosphere. Moreover, Kriel emphasised the importance of being closer to his family while being part of a project he believes in.

“Pretoria is home and I enjoy the people in this city, and most importantly my teammates; I enjoy them and I love working with them. Furthermore, I believe in the project that we are building and want to work harder and strive for higher goals,” Kriel stated.

Chasing the Springbok Dream

Kriel’s decision to extend his stay with the Bulls was driven by his lifelong dream of representing the franchise. Additionally, he has the ambition to earn a Springbok call-up.

“It was easy to choose to stay because I am living out my lifelong dream and I am enjoying it, to keep on chasing the Springbok dream and hopefully will achieve it over the coming years,” he said.

Kriel’s Vision for the Bulls’ Future

Looking ahead, Kriel is excited about the growth and potential of the Bulls squad. He is eager to contribute to the team’s success. Furthermore, he wants to bring trophies back to Loftus Versfeld.

“I am looking forward to the growth of the squad as a whole, us working together to reach our goals and set higher goals. Additionally, I want to win a couple of trophies to bring them back to Loftus Versfeld,” Kriel concluded.

A Bright Future for Kriel and the Bulls

With David Kriel committed to the Bulls until 2027, the franchise can look forward to his continued growth and development.

As Kriel chases his Springbok dream and works towards bringing success to the Bulls, fans can expect to see him making a significant impact on the field in the years to come.
