KKB Polls: We've campaigned fairly, says Pakatan's Pang, denying claims of using govt resources
HULU SELANGOR: Pakatan Harapan’s Pang Sock Tao denies allegations that the coalition used government machinery to campaign for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.
“I believe our campaign has abided by the law. We have campaigned ethically and abided by the rules.
“The Opposition can say what they want, but I am confident we did not flout any rules,” she told reporters outside the Kuala Kubu Baharu police academy here on Tuesday (May 7).
When asked if she was ready for an election petition filed against her if she won, Pang said she would observe the situation first.
“I stress that our campaign has followed the law,” she added.
Pang was responding to a statement by PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan on Monday (May 6) that Perikatan Nasional would file an election petition if Pakatan won the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.
Takiyuddin claimed Perikatan had evidence that the unity government abused its funds, which it said amounted to bribing the voters.
Pakatan election coordinator Steven Sim later denied the allegations, saying that anyone who believes there was a misuse of government funds has the right to file an election petition in court.
