The Flyers were back practicing in Vorhees after a 3-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks, preparing for a weekend of back-to-back games against two huge division rivals in the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins. There was plenty to talk about, let’s recap:
- Cam York was practicing in a yellow non-contact jersey
- He donned an orange jersey to run through power play drills, and took a hard hit against the boards from Garnet Hathaway. Hathaway tried to apologize, York didn’t seem interesting in it.
- Tyson Foerster was back in a regular jersey
- After dealing with a right foot injury, Foerster eased his way back into the last couple of practices in a non-contact jersey. This is the first session he’s played without one, and said he’s been feeling good getting back on the ice.
- Jamie Drysdale did not participate in practice
- Drysdale is thought to have been given another maintenance day after getting “dinged up” against Chicago. John Tortorella confirmed that he will be available to play against the Rangers on Saturday.
- Travis Konecny left practice early
- Konecny got tangled up with Marc Staal’s stick, continued trying to drag himself through drills, but eventually talked to one of the Flyers’ trainers before leaving practice early. Tortorella said after practice that he had not talked to any of the trainers yet, so he could not speak on Konecny’s condition.
The Flyers’ next game will be at the Wells Fargo Center on Feb. 24 at 3:00 p.m. EST. (Important note: The first 10,000 fans through the door will receive Gritty earmuffs.)
