A Baltimore mansion previously owned by Kevin Spacey is set to go under the hammer for over $5.6 million, after the actor fell behind on mortgage payments in the wake of his sexual misconduct scandal.
The sprawling riverside property was secretly lived in by Spacey while he was filming Netflix hit House of Cards, with its ownership listed under Clear Toaster LLC. confirmed to be linked to the 64-year-old actor during one of his trials in April 2022.
Spacey fell almost a year behind on his payments, leading a judge to approve a foreclosure sale last August. Those hoping to catch a taste of Hollywood in Maryland can expect to go in for the auction on February 29.
However, although it is listed at $5.65 million, the starting bid for the waterfront home will not be announced until the auction.
The home was purchased by Clear Toaster LLC. in 2017, a company linked to Spacey. It was unclear who the true owner of the home was for several years. The actor revealed that the Baltimore property was his home and he purchased the property intending to make it his permanent living location

According to court documents via The Baltimore Banner, ‘all or most’ of the real-estate purchased by Spacey was structured to protect his ‘privacy and safety.’
The home’s situation in Baltimore allowed easy access for Spacey to film the Netflix show House of Cards, where he portrayed fictitious US President Frank Underwood for five seasons before he was hit with sexual assault allegations.

While Spacey may have been looking for privacy, the home is also suited for large events, with the property able to fit over 300 people in a hypothetical bash.

Spacey has continued to keep a low profile since the accusations and trials, but did resurface on X (formerly Twitter) during an interview with Tucker Carlson while pretending to be his House of Cards character Frank Underwood.
Spacey – as Underwood – said: ‘This country is so mired in contradiction and confusion. We don’t even know how we can help anyone anymore because we can’t agree who needs help.’
Spacey only had two acting credits in 2023, one of them being his interview with Carlson.
However, he is set to star as Gore Vidal in the film Gore alongside Griffin Dunne and Douglas Booth.
