Kaizer Chiefs to sign 5th Stellenbosch player?

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly planning to contact Stellenbosch FC for a player transfer. The subject is Oliver Toure, according to Soccer Laduma.

KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET OLIVIER TOURE FROM STELLENBOSCH FC

Stellenbosch have not lost a football match in 23 games, one of the leading figures has been the 26-year-old Ivorian central defender Toure. The former Marumo Gallants star was linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, before making the move to the Winelands in July 2023.

According to the latest report, Orlando Pirates are also intending to make a move for the former Asec Mimosas star.

“Toure is one of the players that have been on the radar of [Kaizer] Chiefs. There’s been interest in the player since his days at Marumo Gallants and Stellenbosch FC were quick to sign him. [Orlando] Pirates and [Kaizer] Chiefs monitoring the player while there’s a possibility of going overseas,” a source told the outlet.

GIVEN MSIMANGO THE NEWEST CAPTAIN

Talking about central defenders and Kaizer Chiefs, Given Msimango was wearing the captain’s armband last Sunday against Richards Bay FC – rather than Itumeleng Khune, Keagan Dolly or Yusuf Maart.

“When you do the analysis of the team, the entire team, it’s still very young,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss said as per FARPost.

“I think it’s Itu who has been here for more than 20 years, the other guys are all very young in the team. It’s [Msimango] who they pick as the captain if this one is out, that one is out, Keagan is out injured, Yusuf got injured as well.

“Itu has been fighting to get fit and match fit again to play. So, Given is the next best captain because I do believe that in any club you have to have 11 captains on the field and not one.

“Captain is there to toss the coin and make sure that you kick the ball.

“Other than that, I believe that you have to have 11 captains on the field. So, there’s no problem with that for me,” the Kaizer Chiefs tactician concluded.

AMAKHOSI TARGET RUI VITORIA

Reports say Kaizer Chiefs’ caching hunt has a leading candidate. The club have confirmed a new face and name will be on the bench next season. Reports say former Benfica and Egypt coach Rui Vitoria is one of the leading candidates. Let’s have a quick look at his achievements.

According to FARPost, Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria has emerged as one of Kaizer Chiefs’ hottest targets for next season. Amakhosi are set to appoint a new tactician to replace Molefi Ntseki and his interim successor, Cavin Johnson. Victoria is currently a free agent after leaving the Egypt national team after Afcon 2023 where the Pharaohs lost on penalties to DR Congo in the final 16.

Why is Victoria a big target for Kaizer Chiefs?

Not only has the 54-year-old tasted the pressure of a massive club like Benfica, but Vitoria also won the Portuguese league on two occasions, as well as the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr.

Full list of EIGHT career titles:

  • Portuguese Cup – 2012/13 with Vitória Guimarães SC
  • Portuguese Cup – 2012/2013 with Benfica
  • Portuguese champion – 2015/2016 with Benfica
  • Portuguese League Cup – 2015/2016 with Benfica
  • Portuguese champion – 2016/2017 with Benfica
  • Portuguese Super Cup – 2016/2017
  • Saudi Arabian Champion – 2018/2019 with Al Nassr
  • Saudi Arabia Super Cup – 2019/20.
