Environment and Water Minister Tanya Plibersek says domestically the impact of inflation and cost of living problems has been seen on people’s budgets and their “day-to-day lives”.

Ms Plibersek says every government gets to a stage where they are “just slogging through” and “doing the best for people”.
“If you look at yesterday’s Mid-Year economic and fiscal update you see some very positive news there,” she told Sky News Australia.
“Labor’s the first government in 15 years to have a surplus.
“There’s a lot of light at the end of the tunnel.”
