Dickinson star Ella Hunt will portray comedy legend Gilda Radner in the upcoming film SNL 1975.
According to Deadline, Hunt, 25, will appear alongside Emily Fairn and Kim Matula, 35, as the long-running sketch comedy program’s former cast members Radner, Laraine Newman and Jane Curtin, respectively.
The feature will be directed by Jason Reitman, who co-wrote its script alongside screenwriter Gil Kenan.
The filmmaker and his creative partner will also serve as two of the project’s executive producers.
SNL 1975 will be centered on the behind-the-scenes drama that took place just hours prior to Saturday Night Live’s first broadcast.

The project’s screenplay is based on interviews that Reitman and Kenan conducted with several cast members who took part in the project.
Development on the project was revealed to the public in May of last year, when Reitman and Kenan were first attached to the film.
News about SNL 1975 remained scarce until earlier this month, when Gabriel LaBelle signed on to portray the sketch series’ creator, Lorne Michaels.
Rachel Sennott was also revealed to be portraying Rosie Shuster, who wrote for Saturday Night Live during its early years.
Cooper Hoffman, best known for his work in the comedy-drama feature Licorice Pizza, will play NBC executive Dick Ebersol.
A prospective release date for SNL 1975 has not been publicly revealed as of yet.
Reitman and Kenan are also preparing for the release of their upcoming fantasy-comedy feature Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
The filmmakers co-wrote the upcoming movie’s screenplay, and Kenan served as its director.

The feature serves as a follow-up to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which was released in 2021.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is centered on the Spenglers, who are tasked with saving the world from entering a global ice age after the discovery of an ancient artifact.
Several cast members from Ghostbusters: Afterlife, including Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd and McKenna Grace, as well as series mainstays Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, will appear in the movie.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is currently set to premiere on March 22.
