Turkey Day wouldn’t be complete without tuning into A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, the tenth prime-time animated television special based on the beloved comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz.
The holiday classic is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, having first aired on CBS in November 1973. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving became Schulz’s third holiday special after A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965 and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown in 1966.
The story follows Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patty and their friends as they gather to celebrate Thanksgiving in an unconventional way (which infamously includes the aforementioned snacks, plus two slices of buttered toast instead of a traditional turkey feast).
Watching the Emmy-winning special is an anticipated holiday tradition for many; and fortunately, it’s available to stream this season. However, options to do so are limited.
Read on for where to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.
