Future Hall of Fame center Jason Kelce will be part of the first-pitch ceremony for this Saturday’s game between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies.

Kelce will be at Citizens Bank Park with one of his longtime teammates, Fletcher Cox. They both retired from the NFL this offseason.

Even though Kelce will be part of Saturday’s ceremony, he won’t be throwing out the first pitch. That’s because his elbow “doesn’t work” at the moment.

“Yes Saturday, not the home opener, and to be clear @fcoxx_91 is gonna have to throw it because my elbow doesn’t work,” Kelce wrote on X.

Some fans are demanding that Kelce uses his left arm to throw out the first pitch. It doesn’t sound like that’ll happen, though.

Kelce has certainly earned the right to relax. We’re talking about an athlete who spent 13 years in the trenches. His body dealt with so much wear and tear during his NFL career.

There’ll probably be a standing ovation for Kelce when he steps out on the diamond this Saturday. After all, he’s been a fan favorite in the City of Brotherly Love for well over a decade.

First pitch for the Braves-Phillies game is set for 4:05 p.m. ET.
