Jamie Vardy sinetöi Leicesterille jälleen yhden pokaalin!

Jamie Vardy johdatti Leicesterin jälleen yhteen pokaaliin. Hyökkääjälegendan kaksi maalia varmistivat Ketuille Mestaruussarjan voiton maanantain 3-0-voitossa Preston North Endin vieraana.

Vardy, 37, onnistui maalinteossa 36. ja 52. minuutilla. Veteraani on tehnyt tällä kaudella kaikki kilpailut mukaan lukien 20 maalia. Leicesterin nousu Valioliigaan varmistui jo viime viikolla.

Leicesterillä on ensi lauantaina mahdollisuus rikkoa lisää ennätyksiä. Voitto Blackburnista sivuaisi Tottenhamin hallussa pitämää Englannin kakkostason yhden kauden voittoennätystä 104 vuoden takaa.

Tottenham nappasi 32 voittoa kaudella 1919-1920. Leicesterissä tulisi samalla myös ensimmäinen seura, joka onnistuu nousemaan Valioliigaan kahdesti yli sadan pisteen saldolla.

Vardy on edustanut Leicesteriä kaudesta 2012-2013 lähtien. Hyökkääjä on voittanut seurassa Valioliigan ja FA Cupin.
