KOMPAS.com – Timnas U23 Indonesia akan melakoni pertandingan melawan Irak dalam perebutan peringkat ketiga Piala Asia U23 2024.

Juru racik timnas U23 Indonesia, Shin Tae-yong, mengatakan mental pemain-pemain Garuda Muda terganggu karena kekalahan dari Uzbekistan.

Timnas Indonesia memang menelan kekalahan dari Uzbekistan dengan skor 0-2 dalam semifinal Piala Asia U23 2024.

Oleh sebab itu, STY pun meyakini, pertandingan melawan Irak bakal berjalan tak mudah bagi timnas U23 Indonesia.

“Jujur, sulit bagi kami untuk laga besok, apalagi fisik dan mental kami terkuras di laga melawan Uzbekistan,” kata STY dalam sesi jumpa pers jelang laga Irak vs Indonesia.

Pelatih berumur 53 tahun itu menjelaskan dirinya bakal berfokus untuk memperbaiki mental dan fisik pemain timnas U23 Indonesia.

Menurut Shin Tae-yong, faktor mental dan fisik sangat penting untuk timnas U23 Indonesia saat melawan Irak.

“Jadi, kami fokus pada pemulihan fisik dan mental. Hal itu akan menjadi penentu bagaimana hasil kami di laga melawan Irak,” ujar STY.

“Fisik dan mental kami pulih, juga bagaimana semangat kami untuk memenangi laga, itu bakal berpengaruh,” lanjut dia.

STY mengatakan, sejatinya persiapan timnas U23 Indonesia untuk laga kontra Irak tak mengalami masalah.

“Saya pastikan persiapan kami sudah matang dan kami menyambut laga melawan Irak dengan semangat positif,” tutur dia.
