Jack Lisowski will be in the draw for the first round of the World Snooker Championship after cruising through qualifying for The Crucible.
Jackpot has been a seed in Sheffield for the last five editions of the World Championship but after slipping outside of the top 16 in the rankings he faced the perilous qualifiers.
The 32-year-old made pretty light work of it, though, seeing off Liu Hongyu 10-4 in his first outing and then Matthew Stevens 10-3 on the first of the Judgement Days.
After four centuries against Liu, Lisowski made two more tons against Stevens and has made what could have been a nerve-shredding trip to the English Institute of Sport look pretty calm.
On two fine wins ahead of the challenge of The Crucible, Lisowski said: ‘That was the plan, just trying to turn a negative into a positive. I’ve got two really good games of match practice under my belt.
‘Matthew looked sharp, I don’t think he played bad, I still managed to get on top of him, that’s a really good sign for me. When I was getting in I was scoring, but so was he, I thought it was a really good game.
‘I’ve won the games, I’m there, happy days. I’ve been there the last five years, I really want to do well this year.’

Ahead of the draw, Lisowski was happy to admit he doesn’t want to play his good pals Judd Trump or Rob Milkins, while a meeting with Ronnie O’Sullivan is also one to avoid.
‘I really want to do well this year,’ he said. ‘I don’t want to play him [Trump], I don’t want to play Milkins, he’s me mate as well. You never really want to play Ronnie. There’s a few I want to avoid. I’ll be lying if I say I won’t be watching. It’s a big draw on Thursday.’
Despite having a few names he would rather not play in the opening round, Lisowski is aiming for the big prize at the start of May, hoping to replicate the free-wheeling win over Luca Brecel last year.
‘I’ve beaten all the players that are in it,’ he said as he considered his World Championship chances. ‘You’ve only got to look at Luca last year, what an incredible two weeks he had.

‘Hopefully I can take some inspiration from that and do a Luca. I enjoyed watching him so much last year so I fancy a bit of that myself.’
His comfortable win over the Welshman saw him become the first qualifier through to The Crucible, with 15 more to join him over Tuesday and Wednesday.
Lisowski will discover his first round opponent at the main event on Thursday morning when the draw is made for the last 32.
