Vancouver Canucks forward Dakota Joshua practiced fully with the team today and could be a possibility to play tomorrow night.
“It was a lot of fun,” Joshua told reporters. “It’s been a long time coming. It’s really nice to be back out there with the guys and just be fully a part of the group again.”
Joshua skated with J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser at practice. That would be a new line for the Cancuks this season.
“It feels like forever. But at this point, [I’m] just happy that that’s behind me,” Joshua said. “I’m not sure [if I’m playing tomorrow]. We’ll talk about it and then see how the morning goes.”
“It’s a great opportunity. Great players. Both of them are having a hell of a season,” Joshua said about his new possible linemates. “So if I get a chance to be a part of it, [it] should be a good one and it’s always fun to play with those guys.”
Joshua will bring some much-needed size and physicality to the Canucks lineup that is headed into the postseason. His strong defensive play will also be vital to the team’s playoff success.
Joshua didn’t initially expect to miss this much time, but as he became more familiar with the injury, he understood why he went through the recovery process.
“I think it’s just like getting stimulated with the speed again,” Joshua said about what will happen when he returns. “You’re going hard and trying to do what you can, but you know, it has been a long time. Just taking it all in and enjoying being back out there and then having fun with the guys again will be most important.”
Joshua hasn’t played since February 13th against the Chicago Blackhawks, where he had a goal and two assists. He’s had a productive season with 13 goals and assists in 53 games.
