Residents in Edinburgh and East Lothian could catch a rare glimpse of the iconic jets.

Residents in Edinburgh and the Lothians could get a rare opportunity to witness the iconic Red Arrows as they make their way across the borders for training.

Currently based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, the jets are set to make their way across the east coast into Scotland at around 9am on Monday morning, February 19.

According to Military Airshows UK, the Red Arrows should be visible from parts of central and east Edinburgh as well as East Lothian before landing at RAF Lossiemouth and taking part in training at Tain Air Weapons Range.

The site also claims the jets will transition from Waddington to Lossiemouth, possibly in two batches setting off half an hour apart, with the first departure at around 9am.

They will make their way past Alnwick over the Firth of Forth above North Berwick and Dunbar before crossing Fife and Tayside, giving those in Edinburgh and the Lothians the best chance of seeing them between 9.25am and 9.37am.
