The veteran has come a long way and managed to break his way into the Indian team following a brief spell where he found himself out of favour. He has been a key wicket-taker for the Royals and also managed to win the purple cap award for the highest wicket-taker in an IPL season in 2022 where RR went all the way to the finals.
Despite his recent slump in form, he manages to find a way to get himself among the wickets something both the Royals and the national team will hope to benefit from in their respective tournaments.
In the ongoing season of the IPL, he has amassed a total of 14 wickets putting him among the top-10 wicket-takers for the season as well.
Against DC, the Royals were under pressure thanks to the opening pair of Jake Fraser McGurk and Abhishek Porel reaching their respective fifties but thanks to the experienced spin-duo of Chahal along with Ravi Ashwin the side was able to restrict the home side to a total of 221/8.
