Cop dies after falling from vehicle, struck by pickup
CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan, Philippines — A policeman died after he was run over by a pickup when he fell from a patrol car in this province early yesterday.
Pat. Edmond John Arenas, 26, of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company based in San Ildefonso, Bulacan, was in the backseat of a police vehicle driven by Pat. Klein Orbita on their way to Manila when the victim accidentally fell as they were traversing Barangay Balite in San Miguel town, reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, showed. Why he fell is unclear.
When he fell off, he was struck by a Mitsubishi L200 owned by the municipal government of Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya.
Arenas was pronounced dead on arrival at the San Miguel District Hospital.
The driver of the pickup is facing charges over the incident
