Paul Merson insists the Premier League title race is set to go to the wire with four teams still in with a chance of glory.

Manchester City remains the odds-on favourites and, after an early season dip, appear to again be hitting form at the right time.

Liverpool are the current pacesetters and will hope to give Jurgen Klopp the perfect end to his Anfield tenure with the German set to bring down the curtain on his Anfield reign at the end of the season.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have returned from their winter training camp in Dubai in fine fettle and underlined their credentials with their recent win over Liverpool, followed up by a 6-0 demolition of West Ham.

Merson, however, is confident the Gunners’ north London rivals remain in contention despite being seven points off the pace heading into the weekend fixtures.

Ange Postecoglou’s improving side are welcoming back a host of key players at the right time in the season and with a favourable looking fixture list, Merson is confident they remain in the race.

He told Sky Sports: ‘I think Tottenham have got some good fixtures if I’m being honest I really do.

‘You’ve got to win those games I know you have but it’s better than playing Man City away and teams like that every week.

‘They’ve got winnable games and at the moment I think Tottenham are in it as well, I really do.

‘They could win their next five or six games. Liverpool have got to play Man City in a couple of weeks and all of a sudden it changes around again.

‘I think this could go to the wire again. It was massive Arsenal winning 6-0 last week because that goal difference before the West Ham game was another point.

‘Now they’re back in it at three goals. I think you’ve got three top teams up there but I’m not going to count Tottenham out.

‘I’ve seen their games and they’re worryingly good.’
